Overview:

Alex Bishop Lab

The Bishop Lab in Childhood Cancer Research studies cancer development, prevention and therapeutic targeting using genomics, molecular biology, cell biology and animal model techniques. The purpose of this position is to direct the day-to-day management of the Bishop Lab as well as performing bench-based research.

Responsible for management of animal (mouse) colony in close collaboration with the PI. DNA/RNA/protein purification from tissues and cells, PCR genotyping; quantitative PCR; western immunoblotting; immunohistochemistry; cell culture and transfection.

Develops project plans and timelines to ensure tasks are completed on schedule.

Manages project budgets when applicable and ensures financial goals are met.

Leads project team meetings and provides direction to team members.

Monitors project progress and addresses any issues that arise.

Communicates project status updates to stakeholders and senior management.

Ensures project deliverables meet quality standards and are delivered on time.

Education Requirement:

Bachelor's Degree in relevant field, or equivalent experience, required.

Master's Degree, preferred.

Certifications:

Project management certification, preferred.

Skills:

Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written skills.

Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to multitask and efficiently provide time management.

Collaborative and team-oriented with the ability to work well independently.

Experience:

Three years of relevant program or project support, required.
