What does a day in the life of a SharePoint Specialist look like?
The SharePoint Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining SharePoint solutions. As a SharePoint Specialist, you will be ensuring the security and integrity of SharePoint sites and content and providing technical support and troubleshooting for SharePoint-related issues. Day-to-day activities can also include developing and automating workflows, as well as integrating AI technologies to enhance the functionality and efficiency of our SharePoint environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and customize SharePoint websites, add web parts, set up document libraries, and integrate SharePoint with other Microsoft Office applications according to business needs
Ensure the security and integrity of SharePoint sites and content, including setting permissions for sites, lists, libraries, folders, and files
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for problems that arise within the SharePoint environment
Ensure users are well equipped to utilize SharePoint effectively by conducting training sessions and creating documentation for end-users
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and departments to gather requirements, understand end-user needs, implement and deliver SharePoint solutions
Configure and optimize SharePoint environments to ensure seamless collaboration and efficient data management
Conduct regular system maintenance and updates to ensure the SharePoint environment is current and functional
Develop, design, implement, and automate workflows to streamline business processes and improve efficiency
Integrate and utilize AI tools and technologies to enhance the functionality and efficiency of SharePoint solutions
Operate as a backup database administrator for the department
Qualifications:
5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining SharePoint solutions
Microsoft Certified SharePoint Administrator certification or related certification
Experience in maintaining SharePoint security and permissions
Experience in developing and automating workflows
Experience interfacing with AI technologies and their integration into SharePoint environments
Have excellent communication and collaboration skills
Nice to Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field
5-7 years of experience in SharePoint administration and Microsoft 365
Experience with Power Automate and other workflow automation tools
Hands-on experience with machine learning and AI development frameworks
Previous experience working with SharePoint Server on-premises
Previous experience creating and delivering training sessions and documentation
Previous database administration skills
