Automation Controls Engineer

Louisville, CO - 100% On site Role

Seeking an Automation Engineer I to join our client’s team in the energy, mining, industrial power markets, and Integrated bio-energy solutions. Will assist in the design, engineering, procurement, and product life cycle management of large-scale custom-manufactured industrial equipment. The Automation Engineer will focus on programmable logic controllers and the associated I/O utilized for integrated systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in selecting engineered controls equipment to be utilized as a part of the engineered product design

Recognize special relationships that are required within control panels for manufacturing, troubleshooting, and maintenance with help from management

Assist with the creation of point-to-point wiring diagrams of large industrial systems that are utilized to manufacture industrial facilities

Create 2D CAD layouts of electrical enclosures with input from management

Help to create bills of materials of controls equipment utilizing CAD

Contact vendors for price and availability of engineering equipment

Create and organize spreadsheets and or bid documents with pricing, part numbers, and equipment data

Work with managers to create project proposals that accurately depict client offerings

Reference the NEC for electrical installations and selections

Create load lists from the station equipment

Review drawing details for accuracy, standardization, and completeness

Communicate with clients for project updates and technical questions

Help to coordinate material take-offs for purchase of all materials required for fabrication and installation of prefabricated and unitized systems

Support other engineers to meet project goals and deadlines

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent technical degree is required

1-2 to years’ experience in controls engineering is required

Experience with oil and gas environments is strongly preferred.

Experience with the programming of PLCs is preferred

Must be able to identify and resolve problems promptly.

Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously with confidence.

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are required.

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy is required.

AutoCAD 2D drafting experience at a basic level is required

Experience developing drawings for a manufacturing purpose is preferred

Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience is preferred

Ability to travel 25-40% to clients sites nationwide.
