SUMMARY

The Frame Builder position is responsible for building the initial frame structure of medical and medication cart storage products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned:

• Performs primary work cell assembly for medical and medication cart frames.

• May also perform assembly work at other work cells as business or production demand fluctuates or requires.

• Actively participates in a continuous improvement process as well as work-cell cross training to ensure all team members are capable of performing assembly work across all work cell or assembly team areas.

• Wears proper protective equipment based upon work cell requirements; this is especially critical to mitigate static discharge while assembling and/or testing electronic equipment.

• Performs inspections of components and assemblies to verify conformance to specifications.

• Performs preventative maintenance requirements as necessary.

• Performs basic troubleshooting and reports problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials.

• Cooperatively provides hands-on job function training to co-workers as needed.

• Must understand and comply with 5S, ISO, and other corporate programs, initiatives and safety protocols, which includes being free from the influence of drugs, alcohol, or any substances that may impair physical or mental abilities. Compliance with company substance use policies is required to ensure a safe work environment.

• Dependable and consistent attendance is critical for team performance and productivity.

• Other duties or special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

• 6 months to two years’ experience in relevant manufacturing or assembly operations preferred.

• Ability to use hand tools and understand basic mechanical assembly is necessary.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read, comprehend and discuss simple instruction, short correspondence, and memos.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Familiarity with ERP system preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires the incumbent to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally and regularly requires walking, standing, talking, and using hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee will regularly lift, push or pull up to 75 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job are close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts within a warehouse/manufacturing environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
