Inside Manual Machinist
Location: Lockport, LA
Position Overview: The Inside Manual Machinist fabricates machine components such as shafts, rudder stocks, stern tubes, etc., using manual machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate manual mills, lathes, and drill presses to fabricate machine components.
Use measuring tools such as dial calipers and micrometers to ensure precision.
Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and work instructions to complete tasks accurately.
Perform quality checks on finished components to ensure they meet specifications.
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of experience with manual and CNC machining.
Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency in operating manual mills, lathes, and drill presses.
Ability to use measuring tools (dial calipers and micrometers).
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and work instructions.
Strong understanding of machining techniques and best practices.
Attention to detail and precision in fabricating components.
Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with other team members and departments.
Knowledge of safety protocols and practices in a machining environment.
