The Role

Are you skilled at leading Catholic faith-based educational programmes? Do you have the experience and knowledge to support families and volunteers in deepening their understanding of religious teaching? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

We are looking for a committed Catholic Religious Education Coordinator (CCRE) to support the delivery of faith-based education in a unique setting.

Based in Italy and working with the US Forces community, you’ll develop and coordinate engaging programmes that meet the needs of all age groups and follow official Archdiocesan guidelines. You’ll also provide leadership to volunteer teachers, support at-home learning resources, and build links with the wider AMS Faith Formation network.

This is a contracted part-time position working within the Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS).

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain religious education programmes for all age groups

Ensure all materials follow AMS curriculum guidelines

Manage online family faith resources

Lead, train, and support volunteer catechists and assistants

Stay connected with the AMS Office of Faith Formation and relevant online groups

Commit to ongoing personal development and training

Keep up to date with religious teaching and educational materials

The Person

Legal right to reside and work for US Forces in Italy

Conversational English

Basic computer and software skills

Ability to lead and support a religious education programme

AMS Catechist Certificate (or willingness to complete within 90 days of starting)

Bachelor’s degree or four years’ relevant experience

Strong knowledge of doctrine and current teaching materials
