POSITION SUMMARY

Email Marketing Lead is an analytical and creative individual responsible for working with our digital marketing team to strategize, develop, and execute our email & mobile (SMS) marketing strategy as part of our holistic digital strategy. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing emails, automated tracks, and simple to complex drip campaigns. As an Email Marketing Lead, you will be responsible for developing and executing email marketing campaigns to drive engagement, nurture leads, and increase conversions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create compelling content, segment audiences effectively, and optimize campaigns for maximum impact. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of email & SMS marketing best practices, excellent communication skills, and a passion for data-driven decision-making.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Drive email and mobile marketing list growth strategy

Develop email and mobile marketing messaging to support campaigns and business needs for both Pendleton Direct and Pendleton Retail Stores (Pendleton DTC Division)

Work alongside our Digital Marketing Manager, Direct Merchandising, and Creative Services team to develop and create effective email and mobile messaging creative by writing briefs, developing strategy and giving informed feedback.

Strategize and implement new ways to improve email and SMS metrics

Expand and optimize email trigger program

Identify stand-alone and complementary SMS strategies

Support efforts around audience segmentation, audience insights, data analytics and more

Own email and mobile marketing metrics including list growth and demand performance

Stay up to date with email best practice and platform optimizations

Ensure audience lists are up to date and segmented properly

Manage email deliverability and troubleshoot email issues

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of email marketing experience; experience with Blue Core a plus

Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud required; experience with SF Mobile Connect a plus

1+ years of Mobile Marketing experience; experience with Attentive a plus

Experience developing marketing alongside internal teams and managing a marketing calendar

Strong understanding of email technical and design best practices, link and landing page strategies

Understanding of audience development and segmentation relative to customer journey

Experience developing, building and tracking email metrics for both batch and trigger programs

Excellent attention to detail

Ability to Juggle long and short-term deadlines

Experience working directly with external agencies or vendors

SYSTEM QUALIFICATIONS

High proficiency with Excel, Google Slides & Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint)

Familiarity with time and project management systems Trello, Jira/Confluence or similar a plus.

Familiarity with Salesforce (SFRA/SFCC) or similar eCom platform, HTML, Digital design tools

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

The ability to use a computer workstation for extended periods of time, sitting, standing, typing, and viewing information on a monitor.

Ability to provide a detailed visual review of creative content, including graphics, photography, and copy.

Position is expected to work a minimum of 4 days a week in our Portland office.
