About the Opportunity
Cal Land Engineering & Associates, Inc. is a growing provider of land surveying, civil, and geotechnical engineering services. We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Brea, CA. This is an exciting opportunity to lead meaningful projects, collaborate with experienced professionals, and play a vital role in the success and growth of our Geotechnical Division.
Please note: Applicants must be based in the U.S. and have relevant U.S. work experience.
Key Responsibilities
Follow all safety rules, guidelines, and standards for every project. Participate in pre-task planning and promptly report any safety concerns.
Lead and manage geotechnical projects, including task delegation and staff oversight.
Conduct technical reviews of geotechnical reports and addenda letters for quality and accuracy.
Perform a wide range of geotechnical analyses including:
Shallow and deep foundation design (vertical and lateral capacity)
Settlement and liquefaction analyses
Slope stability studies
Retaining wall recommendations and grading evaluations
(Experience with ground motion evaluations is a plus)
Provide clear and practical geotechnical recommendations for both private and public sector projects.
Oversee construction-phase geotechnical services to ensure implementation of recommendations.
Support business development efforts; generating work from existing or new clients is a plus.
Exercise sound professional judgment and take initiative with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
California PE license, GE licensure or on track to obtain it preferred.
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of U.S.-based geotechnical engineering and project management experience.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
Strong technical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset.
