You will focus on business data, geospatial data, and systems, including analysis of business processes, governance, requirements, and data lifecycle management.

Responsibilities:

Research and Analysis: Research business data requirements, understand user needs, and develop data standards for assigned projects.

Process Modeling: Use process modeling techniques (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, ER/Studio) to analyze business processes, develop as-is and to-be models, and document data business rules.

System Integration: Trace and map data across systems, identifying solutions to business and data problems.

Documentation: Create functional specifications, user requirements, data standard reports, data quality plans, and metadata documentation using standard templates.

Business Rules Development: Capture business rules and integrate them into activity diagrams and data model documentation.

Stakeholder Interaction: Collaborate with data stewards, data modelers, business analysts, and project managers to translate business needs into data requirements.

Data Quality and Standards: Develop and document data quality plans, and metadata records for each data standard developed, ensuring compliance with project specifications.

Required Technical Experience:

Data Mapping & Integration: Experience mapping and tracing data across systems to solve business or data-related challenges.

Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with natural resource or land management organizations and their processes.

Collaboration & Communication: Experience working with diverse teams (e.g., data stewards, modelers, analysts) to define and translate business needs into data models, schemas, and domains.

Modeling & Analysis Tools: Proficiency with tools like Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, ER/Studio, Balsamiq Mockups, and general data modeling software (Idera ER/Studio, Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect, or CA ERwin).

Geospatial Awareness: Basic knowledge of GIS and familiarity with the ESRI stack for business analysis and geospatial data requirements.

Land Resource Management: Preference for candidates with knowledge of land resource management concepts and practices.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:BS in a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, including experience in supporting natural resource, land management, or similar missions.

Security: Must be able to pass basic NACI, background, drug, and reference checks.

Location: U.S. Remote

If you’re excited about transforming legacy systems into data-driven, automated workflows and want to work on impactful projects that drive positive change, we’d love to hear from you!
