We are currently looking for a Material Planner to join us at our facility in Asturias, Spain.
A Material Planner at Axalta manages product service levels, inventory health, and replenishment orders based on 6 month demand forecasts. They coordinate with internal factories, external suppliers, and subcontractors, developing mitigation plans for supply chain issues. The role involves managing trade goods for supply to car manufacturing plants and subcontractors for the REF business, ensuring timely availability of products, and collaborating with teams in Spain and Wuppertal.
Key responsibilities:
Manage Service Levels: Oversee the service level of a set of products, ensuring high availability and reliability.
Inventory Management: Maintain and monitor inventory health, including setting inventory parameters, replenishment sizes, and frequencies based on 12-24 month demand forecasts.
Order Placement and Follow-Up: Place and follow up on detailed orders to internal factories, external suppliers, and subcontractors, considering replenishment lead times.
Issue Mitigation: Develop and communicate mitigation plans in case of supply chain issues, coordinating with relevant stakeholders.
Trade Goods Management: Handle the procurement and delivery of trade goods from various suppliers in Europe to OEM plants across Europe and Africa.
Subcontractor Coordination: Manage two subcontractors for the REF business, including organizing the supply of packaging materials and paint, and overseeing replenishment orders to the central warehouse.
Capacity Planning: Ensure timely availability of products by considering the capacities of subcontractors and aligning with production schedules.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Mobility customer service and demand team in Spain and receive guidance from master production schedulers in Wuppertal.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in material planning and inventory management.
Key requirements:
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Economy, Business Administration, or a Supply Chain related field; a Master’s degree is ideal.
Language Skills: Proficiency in English is a must; German is a plus.
Experience: 2 to 5 years of work experience in Supply Chain or a similar field is needed.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of SAP Material Management is ideal; experience with the OMP tool for planning purposes is a plus. Proficiency in Excel and the rest of Microsoft Office tools.
Travel Availability: Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills for interacting with internal stakeholders and external customers and suppliers.
Other skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Autonomy, and project-management skills, take ownership of projects, and solve issues proactively.
