We are seeking a dedicated, patient, and caring Special Needs Assistant to provide tailored support to children with special educational needs (SEN) within our nursery. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and group support for children with special educational needs, promoting inclusion and participation.

• Assist in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each child's needs.

• Collaborate with nursery staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure cohesive support.

• Monitor and record children's progress, providing regular feedback to teaching staff and parents.

• Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that encourages learning and development.

• Support children with personal care tasks when required, ensuring dignity and respect.

• Promote positive behaviour management techniques and encourage social interactions.

• Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and health and safety regulations.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably within an early years setting.

• Understanding of various SEN conditions and appropriate support strategies.

• A warm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children.

• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with staff, parents, and external professionals.

• Ability to adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs of children.

• Relevant qualifications in childcare or special needs support (desirable but not essential).

• A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
