Sr. AV & VTC Technician Job Responsibilities:
G-Star Telecom Inc. is an SBA 8(a) Veteran Owned Small Disadvantage Business (VOSDB) that specializes in the resell, design, delivery, and maintenance of Audiovisual Equipment, Video Conferencing, and IT & Engineering Staffing with over ten (12) years of industry experience providing a wide range of services to both the Federal Government and Commercial Agencies/Companies. We are a group of highly skilled and self-motivated engineers looking to expand G-Star’s customer base and capabilities through hiring Technicians/Engineers with knowledge and industry experience as we've won large GWACs. Position will include marketing our company’s capabilities & designations to commercial entities and federal government agencies, providing clients with onsite asset support services, and improving company sales revenue.
As an AV installer, your duties include:
Setting up the equipment to work within a specific space
Testing the equipment before a meeting or conference
Optimizing the quality of audio and/or video for the meeting or conference
Transporting tools between different projects
Performing basic maintenance and repairs on AV VTC equipment
Installing some equipment to use permanently
AV installers keep detailed records of all installations, maintenance, and repairs to AV VTC equipment and systems
Must be able to travel out of state for nation-wide projects
Education/Experience
Associates Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
3-5 years of directly related experience supporting information systems operations.

Required:
Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in audio visual and telecommunications support.
Comprehensive knowledge of related audio visual hardware and software.
May require professional certification in one or more specific technologies, depending on job assignment.
Strong knowledge with demonstrated experience using VTC Codec's, Audio Mixers, Control Systems, Audio Visual automation, Wiring, Amplifiers, Microphones, Projection systems, Video Cameras and other A/V peripheral equipment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint.
Experience in signal flow, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and operation of VTC and ATC systems
Experience with Polycom video conferencing systems, endpoints, and infrastructure
Experience with Cisco video conferencing systems, endpoints, and infrastructure
Video Teleconferencing (VTC) networks and integrated Audio Visual (AV)
Desired:
Certifications in one or more of the following: CTS, CTS-I, CVE, NET+, CCNA, CCNP, AMX/Crestron Certifications (Basic, Intermediate).
Experience with audio visual bridges, endpoints, and protocols.
Experience with AMX, Extron, HP, Polycom, CISCO, Biamp, Shure and Crestron equipment.
Certifications or experience with Polycom Endpoints
Certifications or experience with CiscoEndpoints

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office environment or customer sites. Customer sites will vary from construction sites to finished executive boardrooms. Majority of work is indoors, but site conditions vary drastically. Appropriate dress is required.
The working environment may contain various power tools, electricity, heights, construction hazards …etc… Therefore all employees are required to take the necessary actions and precautions to ensure that all possible safety techniques and measures are employed. Work hours will vary according to current business needs. Some activities may require overtime or weekend commitments.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
Maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable.
General CTS or other certifications as directed.
Security Clearance:
Minimum SECRET or Top Secret
Can clear a background investigation.
G-Star Telecom Inc Federal Office is in Lanham, MD. Operating hours are from 8:00am to 5:00pm M-F. This opportunity provides the ability to work from home. M-TH we'll have meetings Microsoft teams regarding all current operations and new business opportunities.
We offer health benefits to include medical, dental, eye coverage. Commission percentages are based on new revenue awarded to the company by your sales efforts in which will be negotiated during the interview process. Two weeks of paid leave/vacation for all employees with an additional week of sick days(7). Semi-Annually bonuses will be assessed based upon quartile review regarding job performance.
