Chef - Preschool

Job Description

We are expanding into our second location and are immediately hiring for this position. We are seeking an experienced Chef proficient in gardening to join our dedicated Pre School staff!

You will grow, prepare, cook and present meals in our spacious kitchen. We have a greenhouse onsite that you will help plant and maintain. We are looking to begin incorporating Organic herbs, edible flowers and a broader variety of vegetables into our food program.

Gardening /Greenhouse/ Horticulture Experience/knowledge a must

Farm-to-Table Concept

Responsibilities:

Oversee planning, purchasing, maintenance and harvesting of an Organic greenhouse.

Help implement and plan a robust organic greenhouse onsite

Interact with the students in gardening

Menu plan and create shopping lists based on weekly inventory

Prepare all served food

Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours

Memorize, record, and comprehend menu items, abbreviations, plate appearance, and portions

Follow standard recipes and special diet orders

Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently

Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes

Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and appliances

Qualifications:

Previous experience in cooking, culinary arts, or other related fields

Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques

Gardening, organic growing of herbs and vegetables

Strong attention to detail

Ability to thrive in a warm family environment

Ability to work well with children from Birth (6weeks) through 5th grade.Company Description
