Job Title: Senior Accountant/ Gov-Con

Location: Washington, DC

Job Type: Contract – 6 months

Pay - $40-$45/hr.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Accountant with a proven track record of performing accounting duties at an elevated level. As a key member of the Finance and Accounting team, the Senior Accountant will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and update project and contract master files

Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and timely

Prepare and issue billing/invoices

Manage general ledger activity and reconciliations

Perform monthly and year-end closing procedures

Complete bank reconciliations and assist with cash management

Oversee and process payroll in coordination with HR or third-party providers

Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors as needed

Qualifications:

Proven experience in a senior-level accounting role

Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles

Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
