Sr. Plant Manager

Job Description

Blue Mountain Minerals is looking for a talented Plant Manager for its mining and production facility in Columbia, California. The Plant Manager will report directly to the President and will manage and direct the Quarry, Production, and Maintenance management and supervisory teams on all aspects relating to plant operations. The Plant Manager works closely and facilitates communications with environmental, sales, customer service, and finance personnel. This position ensures that operations are conducted within safety, quality and company guidelines, producing products which meet or exceed customer expectations while ensuring that costs, efficiencies and volume targets are maintained at or better than budgeted or standard levels.

Key Responsibilities

Promotes plant safety through education of employees and proper implementation and enforcement to meet all applicable OSHA and MSHA guidelines.

Directs the coordination of all operational departments to ensure compliance with company objectives, quality systems, and customer satisfaction.

Effectively utilizes KPIs and operational reports to track performance, establish effective action plans and continuously improve operations.

Establish preventative maintenance procedures to maximize plant uptime and manage costs.

Prepares annual operational budget for each department.

Promotes cost reduction and efficiency improvement initiatives.

Actively participates in preparing the plant’s strategic operating plan.

Serves as communication conduit between upper management and plant.

Executes approved projects on time and within budget.

Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies.

Provides suggestions to improve process, procedures, and departments in support of company goals.

Performs other duties as assigned by company President.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Experience operating heavy industrial facilities within relevant regulatory requirements, e.g., EPA, OSHA, MSHA, etc.

Broader experience in operational management roles with functional oversight of manufacturing, engineering/maintenance, and process improvements.

Extensive experience with, and commitment to, LEAN manufacturing in a large-scale complex environment.

Team management/leadership/development skills, including the ability to manage people in an organizational matrix, with success in building and mentoring high performance teams.

Strong communication skills will be critical for this role.

Experience in financial management to include budget and analysis of projects and programs to ensure an acceptable return on investment is achieved.

Education and Experience

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a plant management role or equivalent management position.

10 years of increasing responsibility in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or equivalent degree.

Proficiency in MS Office suite, ERP systems, QC/QA systems, PLC programming and utilization.

Salary Range: $150,000.00 - $175,000.00 plus up to 20% annual bonus, based on performance.
