POSITION SUMMARY:
Executive Director, Technical Operations / Chief Technical Director will lead all teams (Aquatics, Hydraulics & Filtration, Rigging, Automation, Special Effects, Lighting & Video, Sound, Props & Carpentry, Base Building) and establish safe and consistent operations of all systems. To ensure all maintenance are carried out accordingly so as to maintain the freshness and efficiency of all equipment, building, and grounds at their optimum conditions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for managing/ supervising/ overseeing all technical teams in House of Dancing Water (HODW)
Daily responsibility for the technical operations of HODW, including Aquatics, Hydraulics & Filtration, Rigging, Automation, Special Effects, Lighting & Video, Sound, Props, Base Building and coordinating necessary maintenance.
Determines the necessary technical supports, such as lighting, sound, staging, and special needs, necessary for events and performances presented at the facility in advance of production dates.
Prepare annual and revise (reforecast) all operating budgets in close coordination with all other operating departments and in close cooperation with the General Manager and Finance department.
Be fully in charge and responsible for the smooth function of the Department’s administration and maintenance of an efficient filing system.
Ensure all documents related to the operations of the department are being kept up-to-date and that all records are correctly maintained and filed.
Be fully responsible for the implementation of all company Life Safety procedures. Ensure that all life safety systems are at their readiness at all times with highest standards.
Ensure the set up and manage the system of inventory and procurement of technical department.
Establish a regular planned maintenance program to all systems,
Implement a departmental training program in ensuring the necessary skills of all employees to perform their duties with the maximum efficiency.
Ensure all employees are fully familiar with and have a complete understanding of the Company’s policies relating to Fire, Safety, Hygiene, and Health and that these policies are being strictly adhered to
Establish and implement Energy Efficiency Improvement Plans
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Report accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to superiors and relevant departments
Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary technical team, including engineers, technicians and specialists
Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide training to enhance team skills. Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide training to enhance team skills.
Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and excellence within the team.
Perform other reasonable job duties as assigned by the General Manager from time to time
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
over 10 years of experience in a large scale theatre, acrobatic or entertainment show environment.
Education:
Degree or Advanced Diploma holder in Electrical, Building Services, Mechanical or other rated disciplines, or equivalent professional training
Candidates without above education but with intensive and solid experience will also be considered
Skills/Competencies :
Knowledge of Automation Programming structures.
Knowledge of pool environments, oxygen/nitrox tank compressors, SCUBA equipment etc.
Knowledge of theatre hydraulics and filtration systems.
Knowledge of Lighting Programming.
Knowledge of various types of welding, automated tools, and other materials.
Knowledge of Rigging Program
Knowledge of HVAC system
Knowledge of Fire Alarm and Fire Protection Systems, ELV systems, Plumbing & Drainage Systems, Water Treatment Program, Pool, and any other related systems
Ability to master current and upcoming sound technology.
Ability, experience, and comfort in working at high elevations in a theatrical environment.
Willingness and ability to be Scuba certified and work in a water environment.
Experience in Budget Forecast and Budget Control
Good leadership and able to make sound decision and perform other duties as and when required very last minute and at time of emergency.
Excellent interpersonal/presentation skills are required to deal effectively with all levels of staffs, contractors, suppliers and vendors is a must.
Good working knowledge in computer skills and use of all MS Office applications, including Outlook and PowerPoint presentation.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to work on overtime when needed.
Good command in written and spoken English.
Cantonese speaking is an asset.
Good health, physically fit and excellence in personal grooming and presentation.
