ISeries Cobol Engineer

Position Title: iSeries Cobol Engineer.

Location: Remote.

Duration: 6 months contract with possible extension.

Work Arrangement: Remote within the US.

Pay Range: US $75.00 - $90.00 per hour

Who we are looking for / Requirements:

iSeries Development expertise.

Proficiency in ILE COBOL, ILE CL, and DB2.

Knowledge of iSeries APIs, Data Queues, User Queues, Multithreading, Journaling.

Familiarity with IBM iSeries file systems. (Library-based system, etc.)

Bachelor’s Degree.

5+ years of experience in COBOL within an iSeries environment.

Performance Objectives / What you'll be doing:

Develop, test, and maintain iSeries applications using ILE COBOL, ILE CL, and DB2.

Optimize performance, modify programs, and integrate new functionalities.

Manage DB2 databases, queries, and stored procedures.

Utilize iSeries APIs, Data Queues, and User Queues for system integration.

Implement multithreading, journaling, and performance enhancements.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues in iSeries applications, SQL, and MQ Series.

Maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with standards.

Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle.

Collaborate with teams, provide support, and assist in training.
