About the Role
Central Texas Recruiting is seeking a Plant Controller on behalf of a manufacturing client in Hampton, VA. This is a high-impact leadership role reporting directly to the Plant Manager (with a dotted line to the Business Unit). The Plant Controller will serve as a strategic partner in driving operational excellence, business improvement, and financial performance at the facility. This individual will oversee Accounting, Procurement, and Information Systems while supporting enterprise initiatives and ensuring financial compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis
Partner with Plant Manager to drive profitability and cost optimization
Support quality, productivity, and inventory optimization goals
Ensure compliance with corporate financial reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley controls
Oversee capital appropriation processes and post-project reviews
Supervise Finance, IS, and Procurement departments
Deploy business improvement initiatives and monitor execution
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience & Skills:
5–10 years of plant-level manufacturing finance experience
Strong command of month-end close processes
Expertise in standard cost accounting
Solid understanding of P&L, balance sheets, and capex strategy
Highly analytical with strong forecasting and data interpretation skills
Proficient in compliance, audit preparation, and internal controls
Effective communicator and cross-functional collaborator
Hands-on leader who thrives in a plant-floor environment
