Job Summary: The Insurance Representative is responsible for managing customer inquiries, providing information on various insurance products, processing policy applications, and assisting clients with claims and billing concerns. This role involves working closely with both prospective and existing policyholders to ensure they understand their coverage options, meet their insurance needs, and receive exceptional service throughout their experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Support:
Respond to customer inquiries about insurance products, services, and policy details via phone, email, or in person.
Provide clients with accurate and timely information regarding their insurance policies, coverage options, and premiums.
Assist customers with policy changes, renewals, and cancellations, ensuring all adjustments are processed accurately.
Address any concerns or complaints from customers in a professional and empathetic manner, resolving issues promptly.
Sales & Product Knowledge:
Promote and sell insurance products (life, health, auto, home, etc.) to potential clients based on their needs and preferences.
Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ insurance needs and recommend appropriate coverage options.
Cross-sell and upsell insurance products to meet sales targets and increase revenue.
Stay up-to-date with current insurance policies, regulations, and industry trends to provide clients with the best possible options.
Claims Assistance:
Assist policyholders in filing claims and guide them through the claims process.
Provide follow-up on the status of claims, ensuring customers are informed and satisfied with the process.
Work closely with the claims department to expedite resolutions and ensure timely processing.
Documentation & Recordkeeping:
Maintain accurate and detailed records of client interactions, policy changes, claims, and renewals.
Ensure all insurance applications, forms, and documentation are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner.
Update customer information in the company’s database to ensure all records are current.
Compliance & Regulation:
Ensure that all insurance sales and client interactions comply with industry standards, company policies, and local regulations.
Handle sensitive client data in accordance with privacy laws and company policies (e.g., HIPAA, data protection).
Assist clients with understanding their rights and obligations under their policies and relevant laws.
Administrative Support:
Process payments, billing inquiries, and address payment-related issues.
Assist in scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, and supporting other administrative duties within the department.
