We are looking for a Patient Access Representative to join our team! This individual will perform a variety of Business Office procedures associated with the patient registration and scheduling processes in a variety of departments. All functions of this role are performed with a high degree of confidentiality.

This position is 80 hours per biweekly pay period and includes daytime hours scheduled between 7:30 a.m - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. This position will be required to float to our satellite clinics based on needs and schedules. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Receives patients and visitors and ascertains their needs to assist them using a caring and professional manner

Secures demographic and financial information from patients or family, obtains necessary signatures and enters information into the electronic health record to complete the registration process

Schedules appointments and maintains provider schedules

Operates telephone console using a caring and professional manner to assist callers, answers questions and transfers calls to correct departments when appropriate

Ensures referrals are addressed and completed in a timely manner

Works department work queues, as assigned

Competencies Required:

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

Positive attitude

Demonstrates high degree of commitment to customer service excellence

Strong computer skills, knowledgeable in Microsoft Office systems

Familiarity with medical terminology

Education and Experience Required:

High school diploma or GED, or in the process of obtaining

Post-secondary education with emphasis on office practices or previous office experience preferred
