Plastic Molding Technology (PMT) manufactures high precision plastic parts for automotive, telecommunications, medical device, renewable energy, and industrial customers. The primary manufacturing processes are injection molding and thermoforming. PMT has ~100 injection molding presses at its two primary manufacturing locations in El Paso, TX and Centennial, CO (a suburb of Denver). A third facility in Longmont, CO (a suburb of Denver) provides in-house repair and fabrication of tools & dies.

Role Description:

Our manufacturing company is seeking a CNC Programmer with experience programming 3 and 5 - axis CNC mills. You will develop new CNC programs for production runs or modify existing programs for different machines. During the manufacturing process, you will perform quality checks with the machine operator to ensure the program is producing parts according to specifications, making manual adjustments if necessary. You will also work with the engineers to look for product modifications that might reduce the amount of material or fabrication time. Applicants should be familiar with the computer-aided design program Mastercam, experience with Fagor controls a plus.

What you’ll do:

Write CNC programs for production runs

Analyze drawings to determine dimensions, choose cutting tools, machine speeds and feed rates

Modify existing programs for different machines to maximize efficiency and the quality of the product being produced

Maintain tooling database

Make manual program adjustments as necessary

Troubleshoot issues during the manufacturing process

Constantly seek out opportunities for improvement in the tooling, programming, and machine capabilities of the CNC area

What we’re looking for:

High school diploma or equivalent

Completion of a technical or associate degree program a plus

Ability to interpret and analyze engineering drawings

Experience programming 3- and 5-axis CNC mills and routers

Familiarity with Mastercam

Familiarity with Fagor

Basic math skills

Excellent organizational and communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
