Lake Murray Floor Covering is expanding, and we are looking for a full-time Warehouse Manager to join our team! We are a locally owned and operated floor covering store. We have been servicing our local communities for over 25 years while maintaining an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. We carry all types of floor coverings from Residential to Commercial; New Construction to Remodels and Repairs.
The warehouse manager is responsible for directing and overseeing the warehouse operations. In addition, the Warehouse Manager is responsible for supervising warehouse assistants, order pickers and forklift operators.
The candidate would have the following abilities:
Maintain a great attitude and manor with the team and crews
Be willing to learn a new trade and grow with the company
Organize and stock items as they are received
Operate a forklift to load and unload trucks
Organize and maintain warehouse storage bays
Bend, kneel, lift heavy objects and carry them around the warehouse
Open the warehouse ahead of the crews
Comply with safety regulations and guidelines
Responsible for the daily scheduling of warehouse personnel to ensure proper manning in order to ship and receive products at the store in a productive and cost-efficient manner
Direct the day-to day activities of the warehouse. Such activities include shipping, receiving, deliveries, maintenance, inventory control, etc.
Responsible for maintenance of warehouse equipment, providing both preventive maintenance programs and communicating all necessary repairs to Office Manager. Ensure that the warehouse personnel have safe, efficient equipment in order to perform the distribution functions
Ensure all associates are trained and following all standard operating procedures
Ensure products are staged for installation jobs
Coordinate with other departments to facilitate efficient warehouse operations
Monitor the flow of paperwork from Receiving to Inventory Control along with timely data entry of shipments
Resolve discrepancies with shipping, invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports
Ensure products are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures
Oversee the rotation of inventories within the warehouse
Perform other related duties as directed by management
Preferred candidates would have the additional abilities:
Prior knowledge of warehouse operations and picking
Organize jobs and pick materials from bins to build jobs
Have a clean 10-year driving record and ability to drive for company
Read a tape measure, operate basic hand tools and power tools
Read plans or drawing to layout installations
Qualifications
· Prior warehouse management experience (preferred)
· 3+ years of previous material-handling experience
· Ability to work with and maintain effective working relationships with other departments in the company
· Forklift certification and experience driving a box truck (preferred)
· Ability to lead a team and/or work one-on-one with our customers
· Ability and willingness to lift boxes and specific building materials weighing as much as 70+ lbs
· Strong customer service and communication skills
· Ability to work successfully under the pressure of deadlines and to accept new ways of doing business
· High integrity, high energy, and a positive attitude
· Ability to navigate technology to schedule deliveries and manage inventory
· Competent in performing basic mathematical calculations
· Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet established deadlines
