Shipfitter Class 1 & 2 - Marine Vessel Repair & Modernization

Your Opportunity:

Develop and strengthen your shipfitting skills with support from our local branch and job-site leadership. We are seeking experienced Shipfitters (Class 1 & 2) to join our team and contribute to the repair and modernization of marine vessels.

Responsibilities:

Assist with steel and structural work across all stages of marine vessel repair and modernization.

Maintain a clean and safe work area, especially at the end of each shift.

Prepare work areas for hot work as directed by supervisors or journeymen.

Grind and prepare steel and aluminum for installation or subsequent tasks.

Assist in the construction of templates and fabrication of structural components.

Qualifications:

Basic understanding of structural repair procedures and the ability to follow directions.

Knowledge of ship terminology, measurements, and the ability to read job specifications and drawings.

Physical and medical capability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Proficiency in using power and hand tools, including mauls, grinders, circular and reciprocating saws, and drills.
