Job Description

** Be advised that the nature of this position will require your presence on the project job site until its completion. Once the project is finished, you will transition to working in the office.**

Position Summary: Oversees entire projects to which he/she is assigned. Works with other departments to ensure all jobs are completed timely and profitably. Develops relationships both inside and outside of the company that promote TP Mechanical and the Project Management Department in a professional manner.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Inspects and tests manufactured products

Trains and assist other inspectors with their duties, as needed

Visually inspects products and materials according to specifications to ensure conformity to established standards, using a variety of measuring instruments, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

Conducts standardization tests on raw materials in order to establish their physical properties or composition, such as tensile strength or powder density

Compare product samples with specifications to ensure conformance with established standards when necessary

Inspects packaging material for correct size, shape, form, and labeling

Operates machines and equipment to test products for defects, using electrical measuring instruments and lasers

Perform precision tests on products to determine their suitability for further construction processes, such as metal casting or machining

Adjusts machine-controlled devices that control material flow in construction processes

Determines the extent of damage in unfinished or defective parts by examining them with electronic measuring devices and comparing their extent to specifications or blueprints

Completes basic electrical and mechanical testing of parts between manufacturing processes to ensure the accuracy of final products

Prepares inspection reports and logs that show the details of all tests performed in the previous day or week, including the results of each test, the date, and an estimate of the amount of time required to perform certain tests.

All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

1. Experience/Qualifications Required:

· Minimum 1 year mechanical experience and/or related educational background.

2. Job Skills:

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

· Knowledge of general plumbing and piping installation.

· Good math ability.

· Good basic computer skills.

· Detail oriented.

· Strong organizational skills.

· General accounting skills.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

3. Education:

· Minimum of High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or equivalent is preferred.

4. Physical Requirements:

· Able to walk job sites.

5. Special Requirements:
