A leading land surveying and geomatics firm is seeking an experienced Senior CAD Technician with a strong background in construction staking. This role is responsible for preparing precise staking calculations, construction layout plans, and survey documents to support field operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson Survey, and a deep understanding of construction staking principles. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate project execution by coordinating closely with field crews and project managers.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed staking calculations and layout plans for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with design specifications.
Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson Survey, and other drafting software to develop survey deliverables, including staking plans, topographic maps, and as-built drawings.
Analyze and interpret construction plans, site plans, grading plans, and utility profiles to generate precise staking data.
Collaborate with project managers and field survey crews to provide clear, accurate, and organized staking instructions.
Review and process field data collected from GPS and total stations, ensuring proper alignment with project requirements.
Perform deed and record research to confirm property boundaries and existing survey control.
Develop digital terrain models and surfaces from survey data to assist in construction planning.
Maintain meticulous records of field calculations, survey notes, and as-built data.
Assist in preparing daily field work packages, including point maps, staking cut sheets, and necessary survey documents.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, state regulations, and company policies for construction staking procedures.
Job Requirements
Construction-Staking CAD Technician Job Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in construction-staking surveying
- Strong knowledge and experience working in AutoCAD, Carlson Survey preferred
- BS or associate"s degree with emphasis on Surveying, Geomatics or Computer Aided Drafting and/or have achieved certification as an NSPS CST Level II is a plus, but not required
