Job Summary: The custodian performs general cleaning to provide pleasant surrounds for staff and students.

Duties/Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Cleans assigned area.

Floors-vacuums, mops, and scrubs.

Bathrooms-clean and scrub daily.

Walls and Boards-Clean and scrub as needed.

Clean Desks and Furniture.

Windows Exterior-Room and Building exterior, clean as needed.

Empty garbage.

Assists parents and other visitors to school buildings with special events and programs.

Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements:

Minimum HS diploma required

Effective interpersonal skills to communicate with school personnel, students, parents and members of the community.

Strong organizational and planning skills. Physical Job Requirements:

Employee is continuously required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, talk, and hear; frequently sits, stoops, kneels and/or crouches, reach with hands and arms in the performance of the job. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally; and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

The hourly rate for this position will range from $17.39 to $21.47 depending on experience. Additional certification pay for education level and night shift differential.. Benefits included in the position include health insurance, paid time off, log term disability, and life insurance. Benefits follow the Classified terms and conditions for Class E employees.
