The Banquet Captain is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the setup, execution, and breakdown of all banquet functions. This role involves managing staff, ensuring high-quality service, and maintaining a smooth flow of operations to ensure guest satisfaction during events.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Event Coordination & Execution:

-Supervise the set-up, service, and breakdown of all banquet events.

-Work with event planners and clients to understand event details, such as layout, special requests, and timing.

-Ensure the banquet team follows all event instructions and provides an excellent guest experience.

2.Staff Management:

-Lead, train, and motivate banquet staff, including servers, bartenders, and other banquet personnel.

-Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members and monitor performance to ensure service standards are met.

-Conduct pre-event briefings to communicate event details and ensure everyone is well-prepared.

3.Guest Service Excellence:

-Ensure all guests receive attentive, personalized, and courteous service.

-Resolve guest complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.

-Monitor the progress of the event and make adjustments as needed to ensure guest satisfaction.

4.Quality Control & Standards:

-Oversee food and beverage service to ensure quality, presentation, and timing meet organizational standards.

-Ensure that all health and safety protocols are followed during the event, including cleanliness and sanitation.

-Check that all banquet equipment, linens, and décor are in good condition.

5.Event Setup and Breakdown:

-Supervise the setup of tables, chairs, linens, centerpieces, and other event décor as specified.

-Ensure the banquet hall is properly cleaned, organized, and ready before and after each event.

-Oversee the teardown and storage of equipment, ensuring everything is properly accounted for.

6.Communication:

-Act as a point of contact for all staff and guests during the event.

-Maintain clear communication with the kitchen, bar, and event planning teams to ensure smooth operations.

-Provide post-event feedback and report any issues or successes to the Banquet Manager or Event Coordinator.

7.Administrative Duties:

-Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records of banquet supplies and equipment.

-Assist with scheduling and ensuring proper staffing levels for events.

-Assist with the training and development of new staff members.

Qualifications:

•Proven experience in a banquet or event service role, with prior supervisory experience preferred.

•Strong leadership and team management skills.

•Excellent communication and customer service skills.

•Ability to work well under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

•Knowledge of food safety and health regulations.

•Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements:

•Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

•Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time.

•Ability to bend, kneel, and reach as necessary for event setups and breakdowns.

Working Conditions:

•Work is primarily performed in a banquet or event setting.

•Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-energy environment.

•Occasional exposure to loud music, event equipment, and fluctuating temperatures during events

Compensation & Work Schedule

$8.00/hour + Tips

FSLA Status: Non-Exempt

Shift Schedule: 35-40 hours per week, Most Sundays off, possible overtime.

Paid Holidays off: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Day after Christmas
