Head of Sales
Melbourne, Victoria or Sunshine Coast, Queensland
Reporting to Consumer Sales and Marketing Director, the individual is responsible for leading the Consumer Sales division for McCormick Australia including retail, foodservice, eCommerce, New Zealand and export. They are setting the customer and channel engagement strategies to maximise category opportunities, incorporating branded product, private label product and new channel development. Head of Sales coaches and develops a high performing commercial team, leads the customer interface, ensures execution excellence through McCormick field team.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with consumer division strategy and brand plans to achieve sales, gross margin, profit and market share objectives for McCormick Brands and Private Label.
Lead the national relationships with key grocery retail partners and other channels (eg: Coles, Woolworths, Aldi, Costco, Foodservice, New Business etc)
Coach and develop a high performing commercial team of commercial managers and field sales team
Ownership of demand forecast in Integrated Business Planning cycle, providing input to operating plan and strategy
Management, reporting and budgeting of all trade investment, discounts & terms
Develop high performing commercial team, and coach cross-functional teams where appropriate, to drive a high performance culture
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Bachelor’s degree or higher, in business or a related discipline
10-15 years relevant experience with proven track record in developing and successfully implementing winning sales strategies and accelerating business growth in global organizations (FMCG or related consumer product categories)
Brand & Private label development & execution experience
Quick to build relationships and leverage for negotiation or needs
Previous people management experience
Ability to motivate others to achieve results and deliver against commitments without formal authority.
Proven experience working successfully in cross-functional teams with ability to influence and network effectively to manage interdependencies and the matrix
