Sr Mechanical Project Manager - Data Centers
Highland Consulting Group is a national executive search firm that specializes in placing top construction professionals.
We have an exciting opportunity with a Mechanical Contractor in Columbus OH that is recruiting for a Sr Project Manager for large Data Centers in the area. The position will focus on a single data center and work on-site. This project is in the $80 Million dollar range and has at least three more of them to follow behind it. As you can see, they have a great backlog and will be busy for 4-5 years on this site alone. This position is a traditional Project Manager and works from award to close out. This position is supported by an extremely well qualified team, that includes a Project Executive, Project Engineers, Superintendents, Safety, Quality Control, Cost Manager, and an administrative staff.
Our client is a well-established contractor that works on Commercial offices, Data Centers, Healthcare, Schools, Universities, Wastewater Treatment plants, Government, and some industrial work. Project values can be up to $250 million. We have worked with them for years and know them well. They have a great reputation and are known for how well they treat their employees and have created a fantastic culture within the company.
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Manages and supervises all phases of assigned projects
Manages and supervises the direct support team
Prepare and manage schedules
Estimate Change Orders
Negotiate all change orders and maintain change order logs
Manages project budget and approves all expenses
Contract Administration
Buyout of Subcontracts & Equipment
Interface with the owner on all projects assigned
Assemble and maintain complete project records and close-out documents
Perform project punch-list inspection(s), in coordination with superintendent and the owner’s representative, and issue punch list to all relevant subcontractors
Stay in contact with past clients for repeat work.
Requirements
Solid Communication both verbal and written.
Ability to establish timelines and budgets.
Experience in cost estimation and negotiating.
Must have past experience on GMP projects and managing all of the project financials
Ability to multi-task.
Ability to lead productive, multi-discipline meetings.
Solid, proven and verifiable record of career stability and project management success a must.
Experience: 5 years experience as a Mechanical Project Manager on large complicated mechanical projects $10 Million & larger (Preferable Data centers)
