Job Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller in Houston, Texas. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing corporate accounting activities, managing numerous financial processes, and providing accurate and timely data to aid strategic, investment, and operational decisions. This role will also involve leading the integration of finance processes and systems during mergers and acquisitions and guiding the accounting team towards continuous improvement and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and direct corporate accounting and shared services activities

• Coordinate the Finance Close process on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to ensure accurate and prompt completion

• Handle various accounting-related processes, including AP, Billing, Cash Application, Credit and Collections, Payroll, Expense management, Fixed assets, and Inventory management

• Manage the treasury function and establish cash reconciliation and forecasting procedures

• Prepare departmental reports, location, and market profit/loss statements promptly

• Report budget to actual results timely, providing business insights for any deviations to plan

• Continually monitor and seek to improve the effectiveness of information management and internal control systems

• Lead the integration of Finance processes and systems during mergers and acquisitions, preparing purchase accounting memos and journal entries in accordance with ASC 805

• Guide and mentor the accounting team, facilitating change management leadership and recommendations for implementing new processes and technology

• Partner with IT and system owners to develop and execute the vision for financial systems tech stack

• Develop, recruit, and strengthen the Finance team

• Assist in the development of KPIs, reporting, and preparation of monthly forecasts and annual budget

• Lead cross-functional projects aligned with overall Company goals and value creation plan

• Ensure compliance with all Company policies as well as legal and regulatory requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role as a Controller

• Demonstrated expertise in Accounting Functions

• Proven experience with Budget Processes

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field (Master's degree preferred)

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred

• Proficiency in using financial software and advanced Microsoft Office skills

• Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and coordination skills

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results

• High level of ethics, integrity, and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation

• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
