The ideal candidate will be responsible for using computer-aided tools to design, resize or modify equipment and components for manufacturing, working closely with business unit sales groups, customers, production floor and other engineering personnel.
Responsibilities
Use Inventor and AutoCAD 3D modeling software to design product changes and innovations, and to create prints for use by the shop floor
Perform finite element analyses (FEA)
Create costed bills of materials and routings in order to standardize parts, and make ECN changes as needed
Develop specifications for purchased materials and fabricated components, identify sources, solicit quotes, and select vendors
Provide design reports for major projects identifying design processes, calculations, safety factors, estimated costs, functional analyses, and FEA or other simulation results
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Agricultural or Structural Engineering
Proficiency in FEA, and in Inventor, SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD 3D modeling software
Able to effectively use Microsoft Office programs
