HR Manager Job Summary:

The HR Manager is responsible for overseeing and leading the HR team to ensure the effective management and implementation of HR policies and practices. This includes talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, environmental health and safety, and compliance with labor laws and regulations. The role also involves advising leadership on HR strategies to align with business goals and organizational growth.

HR Manager Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy:

Develop and execute HR strategies that align with the organization’s overall business objectives.

Lead, mentor, and manage the HR team to enhance their performance and growth.

Manage and direct HR Team to ensure effective administration of assigned HR programs and processes.

Partner with senior leadership to support the company’s goals through effective HR management.

Provide expert HR advice and insights to leadership on key workforce issues.

Talent Acquisition and Retention:

Oversee recruitment strategies and ensure that talent acquisition processes are efficient and effective.

Ensure HR team works with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop job descriptions.

Manage employee retention initiatives and implement programs to improve engagement and morale.

Employee Relations and Compliance:

Ensure that all employee relations systems remain effective, compliant, and responsive to the needs of employees and the company.

Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts or disciplinary issues, maintaining a positive work culture.

Ensures that HR team is up to date and compliant with federal/state/local requirements, regulations and legislation in relation to HR, employee relations, environmental, health, safety, and well-being.

Conduct investigations and handle grievances or complaints as needed.

Performance Management:

Oversee performance appraisal processes and ensure fair and effective evaluations.

Support managers with coaching and feedback to improve employee performance.

Help design and implement succession planning and career development strategies.

Compensation and Benefits:

Manage compensation and benefits programs to ensure competitiveness in the market and fairness across the organization.

Collaborate with finance on payroll management and budgeting for HR-related expenses.

Develop and maintain employee benefit programs that enhance employee satisfaction and retention.

Training and Development:

Assess training needs and work with departments to implement development programs.

Promote leadership development and provide opportunities for employee skill enhancement.

Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and adjust strategies as needed.

HR Policies and Systems:

Develop and update HR policies to ensure consistency, compliance, and best practices.

Utilize HRIS (Human Resource Information System) and analytics to monitor and improve HR processes.

Provide training to managers and employees on HR policies and procedures.

Reporting and Analysis:

Prepare and present HR-related reports to leadership, providing insights on workforce trends, turnover, diversity, and engagement.

Analyze HR data to identify trends and areas for improvement in HR programs and processes.

HR Manager Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in Human Resources, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.

Strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.

Proven track record in recruitment, performance management, and employee relations.

Experience in leading change management initiatives and HR strategy development.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Manufacturing Experience Preferred

HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

Leadership and people management skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in HR software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

High level of integrity and confidentiality.

Work Environment: This position is in an office in a manufacturing environment. This position can also work occasionally from the corporate office as needed for collaborative meetings. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

Must be able to navigate between work locations using company vehicle or walking; Enter/exit security turnstiles or gates/doorways, crosswalks, high traffic areas, stairs, and production floor containing moving automated guided vehicles equipment, forklifts, racking systems, and secure pathways.

Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to steel toed shoes, safety eyeglasses, hardhat or bump cap, protective sleeves, protective safety vest.
