About the Role:

Join our dynamic team in Bellevue, WA, as a Cloud Operations Engineer, where you'll play a critical role in managing and optimizing our SaaS infrastructure across AWS and GCP. You will collaborate closely with our global development team to ensure seamless service delivery, robust data monitoring, and stringent security compliance. This on-site position demands a proactive individual with deep expertise in administering large SaaS stacks, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Cloud Infrastructure Management:

Manage and maintain day-to-day operations of AWS and GCP-based applications and services, including EC2, S3, RDS, EMR, Kubernetes (EKS/GKE), and related services.

Perform regular system maintenance, including software updates, security patching, and backups, ensuring optimal reliability and security.

Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or similar tools.

Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

Utilize monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and CloudWatch/Stackdriver to ensure service-level agreements (SLAs) are met.

Proactively identify, investigate, and troubleshoot error conditions, collaborating with the engineering team to resolve live incidents.

Manage network load balancing and optimize database performance (MongoDB, RDS).

Security and Compliance:

Implement and manage security controls for a multi-cloud architecture, adhering to SOC 2 and GDPR standards.

Continuously improve the security technology stack, processes, and procedures.

Maintain compliance documentation and participate in audits.

Configuration and Mobile Device Management (MDM):

Manage configuration management processes using Ansible or similar tools for software updates and migrations.

Administer and support our Jamf MDM solution, ensuring smooth onboarding and offboarding of mobile devices.

Global Collaboration:

Collaborate with global development and support teams across multiple time zones.

Work with server providers to maintain stable and secure infrastructure.

Automation and Improvement:

Develop and maintain Python and Shell scripts for automation of routine tasks.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives around tools, systems, processes, analytics, and reporting.

Big Data Management:

Work with EMR and similar tools to maintain big data pipelines.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. A relevant business degree with demonstrated technical cloud experience will be considered. Advanced degree or professional certification in Compliance (e.g., CISSP, CISA) is a plus.

5+ years of relevant experience in cloud operations and systems administration.

Strong proficiency in Python and Shell scripting for automation.

Extensive experience managing containerized environments (Kubernetes), databases (MongoDB, RDS), load balancers, and cloud storage (S3, GCS).

Proven experience with AWS and GCP services, including EC2, S3, RDS, EMR, and related technologies.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on root cause analysis.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).

Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and CloudWatch/Stackdriver.

Experience working in a dynamic, global environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Bilingual Chinese/English is highly desired.

Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as a strong team player in a fast-paced environment.

Flexibility to work occasional weekend or off-hours support as needed.

Experience working with Jamf MDM.

Working Conditions:

This is an on-site position in Bellevue, WA.

Typical office environment with occasional travel.

Potential for on-call duties and after-hours support.

Cognitive and Physical Demands:

Daily/majority of the day: sitting, computer work, keyboarding, typing, wrist flexing/extension, and other repetitive movements.
