A leading chemical manufacturing company is looking to recruit a DCS Specialist to support operations at its Pasadena, Texas facility.
As a DCS Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the facility’s Distributed Control System (DCS) and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS). You will work closely with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure plant reliability, troubleshoot control system issues, and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical expertise in DCS, SIS, and PLC systems, ensuring smooth operation and troubleshooting as needed.
Maintain and optimize Honeywell TDC3000, Experion, or Emerson DeltaV systems.
Design and implement control strategies, alarms, trends, and process automation improvements.
Support maintenance efforts, including hardware/software updates, troubleshooting, and network issue resolution.
Assist in project execution for system upgrades and new DCS installations.
Partner with engineering teams to enhance process control functionality and safety compliance.
Perform alarm rationalization, tuning, and response analysis to improve operator effectiveness.
Monitor and maintain Aspen21 historian system for data integrity and analysis.
Maintain documentation, procedures, and training materials for control systems.
Ensure compliance with industrial control system security protocols and plant safety standards.
Key Requirements:
2+ years of experience in manufacturing or instrumentation roles.
BS educated in a relevant Scientific or Engineering subject.
Experience with DCS systems (Honeywell TDC3000, Experion, or Emerson DeltaV required).
Strong knowledge of PLC programming, troubleshooting, and control system architecture.
Proficiency in Windows Server environments, SAP, and MS Office applications.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Honeywell Safety Manager or Emerson DeltaV SIS Logic Solver.
Knowledge of LOPA, HAZOP, and process safety standards.
