Our unique educational approach combines Montessori and Reggio Emilia philosophies, fostering creativity, independence, and hands-on learning while incorporating Jewish traditions.

Position Overview:

The Preschool Director will play a dual role as both the lead teacher and director during the initial phase of the school's launch. As the preschool grows and enrollment expands, the role will transition to focus exclusively on leadership and administrative responsibilities. This position requires a credentialed professional with experience in Montessori and/or Reggio Emilia education and expertise in meeting Florida childcare licensing requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Leadership & Curriculum Development

Develop and implement a blended Montessori and Reggio-inspired curriculum that integrates Jewish values, holidays, and traditions.

Design engaging learning experiences that emphasize exploration, creativity, and hands-on discovery.

Ensure compliance with Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) licensing regulations and maintain appropriate documentation.

Establish policies and procedures that align with best practices in early childhood education.

Teaching Role (Initial Phase)

Serve as the lead teacher in the classroom, fostering a nurturing, engaging, and child-centered learning environment.

Create developmentally appropriate learning experiences that support children’s individual growth and exploration.

Build strong relationships with students, encouraging their independence, problem-solving skills, and self-expression.

Staff Management

As the preschool grows, recruit, train, and supervise teaching staff, ensuring alignment with Montessori, Reggio, and Jewish educational goals.

Provide ongoing professional development and mentorship for teachers.

Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that promotes staff growth and success.

Family Engagement & Communication

Build positive relationships with families through regular communication, newsletters, and parent-teacher conferences.

Develop and implement parent education programs and events to strengthen family involvement in the learning process.

Act as the primary point of contact for parent inquiries, concerns, and feedback.

Administrative & Operational Oversight

Manage enrollment, admissions, and record-keeping in compliance with Florida childcare licensing requirements.

Develop and oversee the preschool’s budget, ensuring responsible financial management.

Maintain records of student progress, staff credentials, and licensing requirements.

Health & Safety Compliance

Ensure the preschool operates in full compliance with Florida licensing regulations, including staff-to-student ratios, safety protocols, and facility standards.

Develop and implement emergency procedures to maintain a secure learning environment.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Montessori Education, Reggio Emilia Education, or a related field.

Current Florida Director's Credential (required).

Minimum of 3 years of experience in early childhood education leadership, preferably with Montessori and/or Reggio Emilia experience.

Strong knowledge of Florida childcare licensing requirements.

Experience working in a Jewish educational setting is highly preferred.

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to inspire and support staff, families, and students.

Desired Skills:

Familiarity with both Montessori and Reggio Emilia teaching methods and materials.

Strong administrative skills, including budgeting and record-keeping.

Proficiency in technology for communication, enrollment management, and classroom support.

Schedule & Availability:

Full-time position with flexible hours based on preschool programming needs.

Occasional evening or weekend hours for parent meetings, events, or school programs.

Compensation & Benefits:

Competitive salary based on skills and experience.

Paid time off, including Jewish and national holidays.

Opportunities for professional development and Montessori/Reggio training support.
