JOB DESCRIPTION.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Operations Office (COO) is a key member of the Executive Team and responsible for Harmonium's workflow strategy and organization of all essential business processes leading to Agency solvency and sustainability. COO is responsible for day to day operations of the Agency and oversight of all programs and services of Harmonium. The COO provides strategic programmatic leadership and direction and ensures Harmonium meets high standards, regulations and contractual obligations.

As a member of the Executive Team, the COO will promote a positive work environment, present a model of preeminent service to all stakeholders, implement organizational objectives to conduct business through inclusive communication and accountability, participate in community coalitions and advisory groups, provide summaries on issues and trends, identify opportunities, and create viable plans for implementation.

The Executive Team, along with the CEO provides leadership and management to ensure that Harmonium’s mission and core values are consistently implemented. The Executive Team participates in the strategy, development, implementation and review of Harmonium business. In the absence of the CEO, the COO will provide coordination and direction of coverage.

JOB COMPLEXITY.

Work closely with the CEO in implementing the vision strategic direction of the Agency

Maintain and direct the daily operations of the business, including operations, fiscal, human services, information technology and direct programs and services

Responsible for the coordination, integration, and delivery of all programs, contracts and related services, promoting collaborative relationships between program areas and ensuring that the expectations of funders, partners, constituents, clients, and other stakeholders are consistently met

Responsible for ensuring quality programs by: 1) coordinating and analyzing the appropriate data to inform the programmatic and operational decision making process 2) developing and maintaining an assessment protocol to determine the feasibility and sustainability of programs as well as lead to more effective and efficient service delivery 3) analyzing and assessing programs based on data collected and implementing corrective measures if required and 4) reporting and publishing the information for internal use

Oversee Administrative Office operations and agency wide Facilities and IT Technology

Review impact of legislative or regulatory policies on Harmonium Service Areas

Respond to government and foundation requests for proposals and applications; coordinate planning to develop program designs, including collection of data and outcomes that support the selected model in response to RFPs

MINIMUM COMPETENCIES.

Minimum of a Master’s level from an accredited 4-year university

8+ years experience in an executive or high management position with at least three years in a non-profit, social services organization

Minimum of five years of direct supervisory experience

3+ years of grant writing experience with demonstrated knowledge of the grant writing process of operational management and strategic oversight.

Experience in nonprofit development preferred, including fundraising, donor relations, and donor management systems.

Strong understanding of nonprofit financial management and reporting.

Experience in working effectively with public, government, and/or corporate executives and officials

Reliable automobile, valid CA Driver’s license and maintain proof of current automobile insurance

COMPENSATION.

Salary Range: $138,154.00 - $207,231.00 annually (Compensation will be dependent on experience)
