About the team:

The Network Ops Team is a small group of technical team players within the GTA Operations department working together to provide the very best service and support to our customers.

Who we are looking for:

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Services Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a key member, you will be responsible for managing the health and well-being of our customers equipment responding to alerts, interacting with our customers for troubleshooting and issue resolution. Ensuring timely application of patches and revisions. Delivering performance reports and ensuring overall customer satisfaction. This role demands a deep understanding of networking technologies and exceptional problem-solving abilities.

Customer Premise Equipment Monitoring:

Responding to alerts perform break/fix activities and observe performance of customer environment to ensure proper operation of equipment under GTA Managed Services network management.

This can include Router, Switches, Access Points and Firewalls.

Customer Premise Equipment Upgrades:

Ensure timely application of patches and revisions to CPE equipment under GTA Managed Services management.

Collaborate closely with clients to schedule maintenance windows to apply patches and/or revisions as required.

Network Optimization and Performance Monitoring:

Implement network monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.

Team Leadership and Knowledge Sharing:

Mentor junior team members, providing guidance and sharing expertise to foster professional growth within the team.

Stay updated with emerging networking technologies and trends, sharing knowledge internally and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Candidates must show:

Ability to promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners.

Product/Service knowledge: Remains up to date on the latest services and products we provide and has a clear understanding of how each work. Working knowledge of telecom network offerings such as Ethernet, TDM, DSL and Wireless access providers also required.

Customer centric: Puts the customer first and creates a positive experience for the customer by building relationships and maximizing service/product offerings. Stays current with knowledge of products clients require and can foresee their future technology needs

Accountability: Punctual and dependable to meet the needs of our customers. Has the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize in a fast-paced changing environment.

Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Has the ability to assess an issue, provide creative solutions, and analyze if the solution was viable.

Organizational support: Ability to follow company policies and procedures in accordance with contract/agreement(s) and Company Goals, completes administrative tasks thoroughly, accurately, promptly, and efficiently as possible with respect to human resources, financial management and profitability.

Technical skills: Constantly strives to increase technical knowledge to improve training tools through latest product knowledge, industry knowledge, and research.

Growth and Learning: Is curious and understands that learning is a lifelong endeavor. You own your learning and development, and you are committed to evolving

Candidates must show:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering information technology, or a related field or equivalent experience

At least 5 years of experience as a Network Engineer with a focus on implementation, and network management

Proven expertise in network protocols, technologies (LAN, WAN, VPN, TCP/IP), and hardware (Cisco, Arista, Palo Alto etc.)

Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Regular, punctual, and consistent attendance

Must be able to work any shift and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary to meet the needs and goals of the business
