$73,150 + Superannuation
Set on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin, with magnificent views across Canberra’s centrepiece, Walt & Burley is known for serving quality pub food. We are now looking for a qualified chef who can understand and support our business culture.
DUTIES
- Assist in menu development and estimating food and labor costs.
- Controlling food preparation and managing waste of our station.
- Demonstrating cooking techniques and assisting in food preparation and service.
- Quality control, Inventory and stock management ensuring kitchen is fully equipped with required items.
- Examine the food to ensure the quality & quantity of food ensure customer needs.
- Health and safety compliance- Ensure safety of our own and the kitchen staff during each shift by following appropriate safety standards provided by the restaurant & OHS Guidelines.
- Team collaboration.
- Equipment maintenance.
- Provide training, guidance and supervision to other junior kitchen staff.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Strong culinary skills
- Leadership and teamwork abilities
- Attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food and safety and sanitation practices
- Preferred experience about 2-3 years as chef
- A trade certificate with relevant qualification is preferred.
