A manufacturing client is looking to hire a contractor for their extrusion team, Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 3 PM! This is a hands-on position that will require someone to run machinery through set-up and run production extrusion orders. We are looking for someone who has experience in this space already.
Responsibilities of Position:
Be proficient in all aspects of equipment setup for extrusion and all related secondary equipment - i.e. mills, cut-to-length equipment, and post cure ovens.
Establish the production process using saved process parameters and the standard listed on the travelers
Run samples and obtain 1st piece approval for job start-up
Work with Engineering on new job start-up to establish correct die size and process parameters.
Ability to use a scale, caliper and other measuring equipment.
Run production; monitor and maintain rate and quality throughout the run.
Understand and use work orders, blueprints, engineering specifications, SOPs as required to perform setups and correct problems following GDP.
Understand and operate all equipment controls and operator interfaces
Maintain accurate written records and use the IQMS system as required for documentation
Perform quality checks at regular intervals accurately and on time.
Be able to flex molding and assembly operations
Communicate well with supervisors, leads, engineers, maintenance technicians, quality assurance personnel, and extruding operators
Maintain a clean and orderly work environment following 5S standards
Report to supervisor a daily summary of the shift results
Required Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to communicate in English in written and verbal form.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals.
Ability to interpret bar graphs
Ability to apply common sense, understand to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
Ability to clock in and out of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for job tracking
This contract role pays $20 an hour
