Phlebotomist

HCA Solutions is seeking qualified Phlebotomists for the Dallas VA Medical Center in Dallas, TX.

This position will be required to assist with coverage at the Fort Worth Outpatient Clinic located on SE Loop, Fort Worth, Tx as needed.

This is a full-time, W-2 position for long-term placement. HCA Solutions offers medical, dental, vision, 401k, paid holidays, vacation and sick time.

HOURS OF PERFORMANCE:

Between the hours of 5:00am and 8:00pm M-F. This position offers a flexible schedule with options of 8-hour or 10-hour shifts. Overtime, weekends and holiday work may be requested on occasion based on facility needs.

SPECIFIC TASKS:

Approximately 40-56 lab draws per day.

The Phlebotomist shall perform essentially the same duties as those required of any medical center phlebotomist of similar experience and in similar duty assignments.

The individual shall perform routine inpatient and outpatient phlebotomy services and may be assigned additional work in supporting of services provided by Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service.

To provide maintenance and delivery of comprehensive applicable phlebotomy services within the personnel and equipment capabilities of the clinic, and for the quality and timeliness of record preparation and reports indicated to document care and procedures given.

The individual will be responsible for following all VANTHCS Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service established policies and procedures to correctly identify the patient, perform the phlebotomy, correctly label specimens, deliver specimens to their destination timely and other supportive work within the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service.

The individual is responsible, in the management of private health information of patients, to maintain the highest level of patient privacy and confidentiality and shall release medical information obtained during the course of this contract only to hospital staff involved in the care and treatment of that individual patient.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Basic Life Support (BLS) training (American Heart Association)

Completion of a Certified Phlebotomy program or Medical Laboratory Technician Certification.

Six (6) months of documented phlebotomy experience.

ASCP or ASPT Certification a Plus.
