About the Role

Central Texas Recruiting is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer with expertise in Linux, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and GitLab to support a high-performance computing system at Fort George G. Meade. This role involves leading security solutions development, implementing access control mechanisms, and ensuring compliance with NSA/Y security requirements. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of security architecture, automation tools, and cloud security best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Apply systems engineering principles throughout the system lifecycle

Develop security architectures, access control mechanisms, and IaC solutions

Lead the integration of scalable security solutions for high-performance computing systems

Define technical and architectural visions for engineering teams

Create, refine, and document system designs, diagrams, and implementation strategies

Implement continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines

Coordinate with Product Owners to define and break down technical work into tasks

Qualifications & Requirements

U.S. Citizenship Required

️ Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Required

Education & Experience:

19+ years of experience (High School Diploma/GED) OR

15+ years (Bachelor’s degree) OR

13+ years (Master’s or PhD)

Technical Skills:

Strong understanding of NSA/Y security requirements

Expertise in Linux security architecture

Experience with Identity & Access Management (IAM), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC)

Proficiency in Ansible, GitLab, Bash, Python, and Terraform

Knowledge of DevSecOps best practices and container orchestration (RKE2, Kubernetes, etc.)

Familiarity with secrets management solutions (HashiCorp Vault, Keycloak, Red Hat IDM, etc.)

Experience with infrastructure automation and security policy enforcement
