We are seeking a skilled BIM Modeler to contribute to our dynamic team, playing a key role in project delivery and ensuring high standards across various projects.
Position Summary: The BIM Modeler will be responsible for creating and managing detailed 3D models used in a variety of project phases, including construction sequence planning, proposals, shop drawings, spooling, pre-assembly, and pre-fabrication efforts.
This role requires close collaboration with the VDC team, project BIM team members, and various project-level management teams to ensure seamless integration of model elements across all stages of construction.
Key Responsibilities: Receive, process, and archive model files from designers, company staff, and trade subcontractors.
Develop model components from initial concepts to production-grade deliverables, including shop/approval drawings and jigging/assembly concepts.
Assist in the development of sequencing and assembly steps and communicate these graphically to stakeholders (4D). Create bills of materials/cut lists and support pricing and estimating efforts (5D). Perform quality control (QC) reviews on personally produced work and assist in quality assurance (QA) reviews of work by other modelers.
Facilitate the exchange and coordination of 3D model elements with field fabricators.
Participate in technological collaboration among company project team members.
Required Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of experience in the architectural, engineering, or construction (AEC) industry, or similar experience in a relevant manufacturing industry with a focus on production modeling and detailing using 3D model objects.
At least 1 year of experience in the electrical field (e.g., routing conduit, placing hangers, Unistrut racks, and mounting), virtual design construction industry, or similar experience in a relevant manufacturing industry (mechanical or plumbing) focused on production modeling and detailing using 3D model objects.
Advanced proficiency in Revit.
Working knowledge of Navisworks Manage, specifically in clash detection.
Strong verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate extended periods of overtime or off-shift work as needed.
Preferred Qualifications: Understanding of building control systems, instrumentation and controls, hazardous production materials, life safety, and fire alarm systems.
Experience with Total Station, eVolve Electrical, and 3D laser scanning, including using point cloud data for clash-free model creation and as-built purposes.
Previous experience in electrical field construction.
