Job Summary:
The Athletic Director is responsible for the development, management, coordination, and supervision of a competitive secondary athletics program while fostering a positive athletic culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, academic achievement, and student development.? The Athletic Director will provide visionary leadership, strategic planning and policy development for the athletics department; maintain an athletics program that is committed to the district's mission and vision; administers the overall athletic budget; collaborates with Human Resources to recruit coaching staffs; and manages and ensure compliance from the coaching staffs.? This is a 251-day position.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Have a Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Management, or related field
Have a minimum of three (3) years of related prior athletics operation experience demonstrating abilities in program leadership and development, personnel management, event and facility management, budget and fundraising, compliance and risk management, as well as community and public relations.
Have a minimum of three (3) years coaching experience at the secondary or above level
Possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) rules and regulations
Demonstrate success in promoting a culture of integrity, teamwork, and academic excellence in athletics Required Clearances/Pre-employment Steps:

Public K-12 education industry experience Primary Duties:
Assume full responsibility for the implementation and operation of the district's interscholastic athletic program, which includes the scheduling of games, staff, facilities, security, maintenance, and transportation.
Attends athletic events and practices to appraise program quality. Encourages attendance and community support for all athletic events
Provides leadership in the selection and supervision of interscholastic coaches.
Maintains, order and/or repair, and distribute all athletic equipment, keeping an inventory of all equipment.
Performs all athletic duties in accordance with school district policies, conference guidelines, and regulations of the P.I.A.A.
Attends all pertinent athletic meetings and prepare reports as required.
Distributes correspondence and other information to keep coaches fully informed of all regulations and standards related to athletics including areas such as student and sponsor insurance and the transportation of students
Provides supervision and direction to all coaching staff and perform evaluation, both formal and informal; assume responsibility in resolving problems involving staff, parents, and students.
Develops and implement the district athletic budget.
Attends Board and committee meetings and prepare reports for the Board as requested by the Superintendent and High School Principal.
Ability to operate the approved scheduling and training software to manage district facilities.
Shall be responsible for scheduling and coordinating the utilization of all school district facilities. Secondary Duties:
Keep secondary principals informed about county and state athletic activities as they relate to local school programs
Communicates with administrators, Director of Business Operations, and Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds to coordinate school athletic programs with other school activities
Perform other duties as assigned
