We are seeking a creative and experienced Pastry Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring passion, innovation, and technical expertise to create exceptional pastries, desserts, and baked goods.
Location: Yennora, NSW 2161
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: $73,150 to $77,000 p.a. plus Superannuation
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, bake, and decorate a variety of pastries, desserts and cakes using techniques such as crimping, egg washing, laminating, rolling, chilling, resting, folding, scoring, glazing, proofing, shaping, piping, whisking, beating, kneading, sifting, dusting, caramelizing, fluting, layering.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety in the kitchen.
- Monitor inventory and manage stock levels for baking ingredients and supplies.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff as needed.
Requirements:
- A relevant and acceptable qualification in pastry-making.
- At least 1 year of full time or equivalent experience as a Pastry Cook or similar role in a professional kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, pastry preparation, and dessert decoration.
- Creativity and passion for culinary arts, with attention to detail and presentation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
