Associated Couriers is looking for a dependable and professional CDL with Hazmat contractor courier for the following:

Services Sought

For this contract, you will be picking up and delivering life-saving radiopharmaceutical therapeutics. All freight is to be delivered to their delivery locations; if there are any questions or issues at the delivery point, you would need to call you Dispatch contact.

Coverage Sought

Reliable independent contractors with a 2015 or newer Large SUV, Minivan, Transit Van or Cargo Van - NO small cars or pick up trucks - and availability to run orders:

Sunday 7 pm to 2.30 am

Monday 10 pm to 5.30 am

Tuesday 10 pm to 5.30 am

Wednesday 10 pm to 5.30 am

Thursdays (infrequent) 4 pm to 1.30 am

Route destinations: West Des Moines, IA, Omaha, NE, Lincoln, NE

Contracting with Associated Couriers

Our 1099 contracts are offered to interested and qualifying contractors on a first come, first served basis. As such, time is of the essence in completing the pre-contracting process as soon as possible. The process to contract with Associated Couriers takes approximately 2-5 days start to finish. Because of the high volume of interest we receive for our contracts, we have a strict policy to select contractors out of the process once they have become inactive during the pre-contracting phase.

Routed Deliveries - Varying routes that have more of a set schedule to them. **NOTE: routes may change unexpectedly based on customer needs

STAT/On-Demand - Last-minute pickups and orders dispatched from a route manager or customer

Backup/Standby - Fill-in for route voids

$.80 per mile/average 385 miles per day

Paid in one or more of the following ways: per mile, per route, per stop (plus variable fuel surcharge in some of our markets)

Paid weekly through our third-party administrator Openforce

Specific commission details can be discussed later in the pre-contracting process

On occasion you may be required to stay in a hotel to meet DOT regulations of hours. Associated Couriers will reimburse contractors $100 for hotel stays regardless of the driver's out of pocket expense.

Be at least 21 years of age and no older than 75

Have valid and current CDL Class B, or C; A would also be considered

Have valid and current DOT Hazmat Endorsement

Have valid and current DOT Med Card

Attentive to detail

Have available hours of service to cover the required availability noted above for this contract

Live within 25 miles to zip code 50265

Own a reliable and registered Large SUV, Minivan, Transit Van or Cargo Van - NO small cars or pick up trucks - that would be used for this contract (2015 or newer)

Have the ability to lift up to 85 pounds

Have and maintain state minimum requirements for bodily injury and property damage as primary auto insurance

At your choice: maintain your own workers' compensation insurance or participate in the Occupational Accident Insurance program

Be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and online training modules

Have a clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations or at fault accidents in the last three years

Have an android or iOS smartphone to use for GPS and order scanning

Supply a cooler with reusable ice-packs to transport temperature controlled specimens

Supply straps and bracing equipment

Willing to drive in inclement weather to service our customers

Adherence to customer required professional appearance standards:

Solid white and/or royal blue polo shirt

Solid colored pants (no athletic wear or sweatpants)

Comfortable shoes/boots (no flip-flops, high heels, sandals, etc)

Driver badge (supplied by Associated Couriers) prominently displayed
