A small private foster care agency in Columbus Ohio is seeking individuals who have the commitment and desire to work with children in foster care, as case managers. Commitment and a caring heart are desired for this position because the children we serve have experienced various traumas, ranging from different forms of abuse/neglect, dependency, abandonment, and unstable or violent family situations. By grace the agency keeps growing, which requires 3-4 additional case managers to work with our newly licensed homes, as well as new placements.

You could be one of the new case managers, if you meet the eligibility requirements. This is a fulltime position. But we can also tweak the schedule if a qualified applicant can only work parttime.
Requirements:
We encourage applicants who have a degree in Social Work, plus an LSW, or is eligible to take the LSW examination to apply.
Applicants with degrees in related fields who have been grandfathered as LSW should also apply.
Applicants must be eligible to take the LSW or LISW test in Ohio by the Social Work Board.
Must have reliable transportation and current driver's license, for ease of travel to conduct home visits.
Potential applicants who do not have degrees and experience in social work/social services need not apply.

Responsibilities:
Ongoing supervision of foster families on caseload.
Promote the protection of children placed in foster homes from further traumatic incidents.
Conduct announced and unannounced visits to foster homes, schools, daycares, etc. to determine children's progress update.
Ensure children's basic and treatment needs are being met daily by their foster parents (shelter, food, family contacts, education/IEP/504 plan, person hygiene supplies, medical, dental, vision care, therapy/counseling, medication management and psychiatry. That critical appointments are scheduled and kept by the foster parents.
Protection of all children on the case load from re-traumatization.
Continuously represent agency's best interest in the community as you go about your daily activities.
