We are hiring Childcare Group Teachers for our Before and Aftercare Program at Lopatcong Elementary in Phillipsburg, NJ. If you’re passionate about working with kids and creating a space where they can truly thrive, we’d love to meet you!
JOB STATUS: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
PAY RATE: $15.49 - $17.00 per hour
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure Compliance: Oversee adherence to NJ guidelines, Healthy Kids policies, and host school rules by both staff and the program.
Lead Engaging Activities: Facilitate fun, hands-on activities based on the Healthy Kids Way Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and more. You'll also help kids with homework and make sure it gets done!
Be a Role Model: Foster a safe, healthy, and fun environment where kids can succeed, while being a positive role model they can look up to every day.
Assist with Management: Support the Site Director with management tasks, including keeping accurate attendance and registration records, and ensuring the program has the right staffing levels. You’ll take charge when the Site Director is absent.
Communication: Maintain regular communication with parents and family members through the Playground App.
Collaborate with the Team: Work closely with the Site Director, providing updates on daily events, resolving issues quickly, and contributing to a positive work environment while tackling challenges as a team.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s degree in Child Development, or a Child Development Certificate OR
Six college credits in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, plus nine college credits in Education, Psychology, Health Care, Nursing, or any related field.
QUALIFICATIONS:
You’ll need to pass a background check, including fingerprinting, references, and SEL & SCR.
A doctor’s note confirming you're medically fit to perform job duties and free of any communicable diseases (including TB).
You have a warm, friendly, and upbeat personality. Your people skills are exceptional, whether you’re interacting with kids, parents, or coworkers. Plus, you're professional, reliable, and punctual.
You’re able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry (up to 50 lbs.) to keep up with energetic kids!
