Before and/or After School Program Staff - West Valley

We are looking to fill several roles for our Before and/or After School Program for the 2024-25 school year at West Valley Elementary School, West Valley, NY.

JOB STATUS: Part-time, non-exempt

POSITIONS AVAILABLE: Substitutes, Assistants, Group Leaders, Supervisors, Directors

PAY: $15.50 - $17.00 per hour (depending on the role, qualifications, and experience)

The Before and After-School Program team is responsible for:

Leading interactive activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum, which includes fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and other engaging group activities, along with supporting homework completion.

Ensuring a safe, healthy, and enjoyable environment, and serving as a positive role model for the children in the program.

Staying in close contact with parents and family members via the Playground App to share updates and important information.

Adhering to state regulations, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and the host school's guidelines.

Some positions may also involve management duties such as maintaining accurate attendance, handling registration, and overseeing staffing.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

You are 18 years of age or older and possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.

While one year of experience working with children under 13 is a plus, it is not required. We value potential and enthusiasm!

Be ready to pass a background check, including fingerprinting, references, SEL & SCR clearance through the NYS Office of Children and Family Services.

You’re cleared by your doctor to perform all job duties and are free of any communicable diseases, including TB.

You are warm, friendly, and positive, with excellent people skills—whether you’re interacting with kids, parents, or coworkers. You are dependable, punctual, and professional.

You are prepared to bend, stretch, lift, and carry (up to 50 lbs.), and are ready to keep up with the kids!
