POSITIONSUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Senior Associate Athletic Director, External Relations, the Assistant Director of Creative Services and Production will be responsible for enhancing the Duquesne Athletics' brand in the digital media realm, creating creative content that showcases the athletic department, its student-athletes, and supports its strategic plan. The individual will also oversee the production and editing of an 18-week Coaches Show and from time-to-time assist with live event production. Additionally, the selected candidate will have the ability to recruit, train, and mentor a staff or student workers.

DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Heavy emphasis on quick, timely and engaging social media content for the primary athletics account and team accounts

Produce and create original content that showcases the Duquesne Athletics brand all athletic teams

Create storyboards and scripts for feature content that features student-athletes both in and out of competition to be distributed through multiple platforms including social media and television

Setup shoots, events, interviews including sound, lighting, cameras, and backgrounds

Coordinate with all departments on storytelling ideas, staying atop of current trends, and student-athlete accomplishments and milestones

Develop, produce, and edit intro/hype videos for volleyball and basketball

Oversee video aspect of media day shoots

Attend home events to collect cinematic content to be utilized in conjunction with the broadcast content

Produce, shoot, and edit 30-minute, 18-week Coaches show for basketball and football

Setup, light, and shoot "studio" interviews

Collect student-athlete and coaching content specific to each week's opponent/theme

Create content for special segments (e.g. behind the numbers) to fulfill contracted elements with sponsors

Edit and caption the final package for distribution

Upload and send to broadcast partner for distribution

Assist in the production and setup of broadcasts utilizing multiple cameras, animated graphics systems, reply, and NewTrek Tricaster technology (only as staffing requires)

Opportunity to travel with selected teams during selected regular and postseason contests

Completes otherduties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in digital media or similar program

1-2 years experience in digital media/live productions

Proficient in Adobe Creative suite focusing on Adobe Premier Pro and After Effect

Working knowledge of NewTek Tricaster technology

Ability to work independently and responsibly

Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills

Innovative, creative, and energetic personality that will recommend and implement new ideas

Must be willing to work unconventional hours including nights and weekends throughout the academic year

Ability to communicate, consistently and effectively, both orally and in writing

The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the University Community

Adherence to all University, Atlantic 10 Conference, NEC, and NCAA policies, procedures, rules, and regulations

Portfolio with samples of work is required
