38 hours per week

We are looking for a qualified cook for our busy café at Amaroo. As a cook, you will be directly working under our Head chef and be able to demonstrate your cooking techniques. Although Coffee Guru operates as a Franchise, majority of the food items are prepared fresh in the kitchen by qualified kitchen staffs. We are expecting a candidate who have strong work ethic and love for food.

Salary $73,150 per annum + super

Duties and Responsibilities

• Preparing, cooking and seasoning of various food on the menu.

• Preparing gravies, mixtures and sauces that go with different food items available on the menu.

• Understanding the food handling and storing techniques.

• Ensuring the quality of food is always according to hygiene standards including when receiving goods and during preparation and serving.

• Assisting chefs and other kitchen staff in plating, portioning & presentation of food in a pleasing manner.

• Identifying the occupational health and safety procedures required to complete tasks safely.

• Regulating temperatures of various cooking equipment.

• Preparing food to meet the special dietary requirements of the customers.

• Managing waste and other resources in the kitchen area.

Qualification and Experience

Preferred candidates with relevant qualifications to cook (C-IV or higher).

Relevant experience 1-2 years in commercial kitchen as cook.

Previous experience at Coffee Guru would be an advantage.
